She broadcasted a radio program for 2 years about movies and Psychology. She also has been the editor of the e-journal of the same group. She wrote about movies and psychology in many journals and web sites. She also participated in the book "Suicide and Creative Arts" with her chapter about adolescent suicides and movies. Besides, she has been conducting seminars about movies and she uses movies in her institutional trainings. She has been working as a psychotherapist and trainer in BS Training and Psychological Consulting Center. Her expertise areas are depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, interpersonal problems, problems at work, stress and adolescence.

Burcu Sevim received her Bachelor's degree from Middle East Technical University (METU), Psychology department. She continued to master's program and also received her doctoral degree in the same university in Clinical Psychology. She studied with the mothers of children with autism and applied a stress management program for six weeks that was effective in depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation during the master's program. She also studied the effects of attachment, personality traits, anger on life and relationship satisfaction through humor, intimacy and psychological problems during her graduate training. She has done internships in foremost hospitals, worked and been supervised as a psychotherapist in many private Psychiatric and Psychological Counseling Services.
She has been providing mental health services in English and Turkish to adolescents over 15 and adults since 2007. She uses interpersonal therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and cinema therapy approaches in her work with the clients. She also was a part-time faculty member in Yeditepe University
